Celtics’ Derrick White Rocks Bruins Centennial Jersey While Nursing Injury
The Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics hold more than just the connection of playing in the same home venue of TD Garden.
The teams across Boston often find unique ways to support each other and one Celtics star did so away from home while the Bruins hosted their centennial game Sunday afternoon. Derrick White sat out with a foot injury as the Celtics battled the Cleveland Cavaliers, though he did so with some fashion.
Just as Drake Maye and several New England Patriots players did earlier in the day, White sported the unique centennial jersey on the sidelines as the Bruins eventually earned a victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
You can see White’s jersey here.
White dawned David Pastrnak’s sweater in a day of cross-sport support and collaboration from the Celtics and Bruins across the city’s major sports teams.
The Celtics continue a hot start to their title defense while the Bruins look to break free from their .500 ways under interim head coach Joe Sacco.
