What did the City of Topeka do in preparation of the first snowfall of the season?
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Leading up to Saturday's snowfall, Topeka crews pre-treated roadways earlier in the week in anticipation of winter weather.
According to a city spokesperson, during the storm, the city had six employees treat bridges and arterials with salt.
Saturday afternoon, the city had two employees treat all the bridges with a salt-brine mix.
Crews will monitor conditions and take the necessary cautions as we get into the snow season.
The city spokesperson also mentioned, they encourage drivers to use precaution if they have to be on roads during winter weather.
