Driver fleeing Queens shooting strikes pedestrian: NYPD
QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A driver fleeing a shooting struck a pedestrian in Queens early Sunday morning, according to the NYPD.
A 24-year-old was shot in both legs and the shoulder around 4:30 a.m. near Steinway Street and 20th Avenue, police said. Then, a vehicle fleeing the area struck a 25-year-old pedestrian, police said.
It was not immediately clear whether the driver was involved in the shooting, police said. Sources told PIX11 News the driver may have been fleeing after hearing the gunshots.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital after being clipped in the leg, police said. The 24-year-old was also taken to an area hospital.
In the Bronx, a 3-year-old girl was struck by a moped in a hit-and-run incident Friday, police said. She is recovering at the hospital.
