Team India’s skipper Suryakumar Yadav has been taking a break after leading his side to a 3-1 series win over South Africa last month. The Mumbai Indians batter has missed the first few ties of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 T20 tournament for Mumbai.
Former world No. 1 T20I batter has been busy with his personal commitments which included attending his younger sister Dinal’s wedding. ‘Sky’ shared inside pics from his sister Dinal’s wedding on Sunday, which soon went viral on social media.
“Watching you step into this beautiful new chapter of your life has been one of the most emotional moments for me,” Suryakumar Yadav writes in the caption of the pictures.

The pictures had over 1.7 million ‘likes’ on Instagram. “From our endless childhood memories to seeing you as the most beautiful bride, it’s hard to put into words how proud and happy I feel. You’ve always been a source of joy and love to all of us, and now we are excited to see you beginning a new journey,” the caption continued.
“Wishing you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and endless happiness. Love you endlessly,” Suryakumar Yadav added.
The wedding was also attended by Suryakumar’s wife Devisha Shetty. While Suryakumar Yadav dazzledin a pastel sherwani, Devisha Shetty looked gorgeous in a violet ethnic saree in the pics.
The Mumbai batter will now be free to join the Mumbai side as they get ready to take on Services and Andhra Pradesh in Hyderabad on Tuesday and Thursday this week, under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer.
Mumbai are currently placed third in the seven-team Group E table. They have won three of their four games so far, with the solitary loss coming at the hands of Sanju Samson-led Kerala.
Apart from Suryakumar Yadav, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Shivam Dube will also be returning to the side since the Duleep Trophy tournament in September this year. It will be interesting to see where Suryakumar Yadav will be batting in the Mumbai middle-order with both Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane in fine form at No. 4 and 5.
“Yadav is a team player, he can bat at any position, he can sacrifice his position if the team wants too. He has never missed a domestic game despite playing for India. When free, he is the only India player, who plays matches at Mumbai’s maidaans. He just likes to play,” an MCA official was quoted as saying by Indian Express newspaper.
