Bargain shop selling Baileys for less than £10 – it’s cheaper than Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda

A BARGAIN shop has slashed the price of Baileys to under £10, making it cheaper than Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda.

The creamy liquor-based drink is a staple around the festive period, but a one-litre bottle of the booze can cost upwards of £15 if you don’t buy it on offer.

A bargain retailer is selling Baileys for under £10

Major supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s have reduced the price of the tipple to just £10.

But you will also need to have each of the respective stores’ loyalty cards to make the savings.

For example, if you did not have a Tesco Clubcard you would have to pay £22 for the liquor instead of £10.

Charging £10 is usually the cheapest most supermarkets will reduce the price of the booze too – however, prices and deals can change from one day to the next.

Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda appear to be the only three retailers offering the deal.

Waitrose has reduced the price of Baileys from £17 to £13 and Morrisons is charging £22.

But now another bargain retailer has managed to slash the price even lower ahead of Christmas.

Costco is selling one-litre bottles of the Irish drink for £9.99.

The deal was spotted on Hotdeals.co.uk with shoppers quick to praise the offer.

One customer wrote: “1p saving. Every penny counts”.

Meanwhile, another shopper said the deal was “better” than the offers on the “high street”.

However, it is important to note that you need to be a Costco member to avail of this offer.

To be eligible for a Costco membership, you need to have – or be retired from – a certain type of job.

Jobs that are included in the criteria are public sector workers such as NHS staff, police officers, teachers and local government workers.

Membership starts from £15 a year for online shopping only, but if you would rather shop at one of the warehouses then that rises to £33.60.

If you have a business there are also trade memberships available from £24.40 a year.

There are many perks to being a member as well as low prices, such as discounted fuel and tyre installation mortgage services and pet insurance.

Prior to this year, members used to have to carry a physical card with them when shopping at one of the warehouses, but now it is more convenient.

The retailer has launched its first digital membership card meaning that shoppers can just scan their phones in stores.

Is there a Costco near me?

Costco originated in America but now has 29 stores across the UK.

You can find your nearest Costco by using this map here.

The first Costco in Britain opened in 1993 in Essex.

But there are now a range of sites ranging from Scotland to Southampton.

How to shop around for the best bargain

When hunting for a deal it is important to shop around to make sure you are not being overcharged.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

For example, Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.

Price Spy also logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including ArgosAmazoneBay and the supermarkets.

Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.

How to save money on Christmas shopping

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.

Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.

Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.

Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.

Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.

Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.

Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.

Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.

They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
