Bombshell whistleblower report flags Trump DoD pick for drunken strip club antics

The New Yorker's Jane Mayer has uncovered a bombshell whistleblower report that documents several instances of Trump defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth being "repeatedly intoxicated on the job" during stints running two nonprofit advocacy groups.

Mayer's coverage is based not only on the whistleblower report, but also on corroborating accounts from several of Hegseth's former colleagues who depict the Fox News personality as frequently drunk and out of control.

One particularly damning incident in the whistleblower report details Hegseth's actions while in a strip club in Louisiana.

"The detailed seven-page report... states that, at one point, Hegseth had to be restrained while drunk from joining the dancers on the stage of a Louisiana strip club, where he had brought his team," reports Mayer.

"The report asserts that, under Hegseth’s leadership, the organization became a hostile workplace that ignored serious accusations of impropriety, including an allegation made by a female employee that another employee on Hegseth’s staff had attempted to sexually assault her at the Louisiana strip club."

Another incident detailed in the report describes a drunken Hegseth chanting "Kill All Muslims! Kill All Muslims!” at a bar in Ohio.

Mayer also talked with people who were sources for the whistleblower report to get their first-hand accounts.

"I’ve seen him drunk so many times," said one source. "I’ve seen him dragged away not a few times but multiple times. To have him at the Pentagon would be scary."
