Pilot leaves a romantic surprise message on flight tracker
A smitten aviation enthusiast has set the bar high for proposals after organising a special flight to ask his girlfriend to marry him.
A man in Poland devised an epic proposal to his partner high above the clouds over Bydgoszcz, Poland.
The couple – Alexander and Oliwia – set off on a Robinson R44 helicopter from the Bydgoszcz airport on Sunday.
The chopper took off – but only Alexander and the pilot Jacek knew what the plan was.
They flew away from the northern Polish city, appearing to be on a sightseeing tour over the historical region while making strange movements.
While keeping airspace restrictions and other aviation traffic in mind, Jacek the pilot kept the chopper away from the busy areas to create the proposal only visible on a flight tracker.
Alexander had contacted him in September to create the flight path marriage proposal, Flightradar24 reports.
On Sunday, the couple climbed on board the private helicopter and took off.
Around 15 minutes into the flight of a lifetime, Jacek began circling to create the ‘marry me’ and heart symbol which would appear on the the flight tracker website collecting all live aircraft data around the world.
When Jacek was done, he gave Alexander a signal so he could ask Oliwia to check their flight route on Flightradar24.
Alexander pulled out the ring just as she the words ‘marry me’ appeared on her screen. Oliwia answered yes, according to Flightradar24.
