THEY’RE traditionally opened on Christmas morning, surrounded by family.

So mum Sarah was understandably stunned when she realised her older two children had taken themselves downstairs without her on the special day.

She was even more surprised when she walked into her front room to discover they’d already ripped open ALL of their presents.

“Oh my God!” Sarah exclaimed as she walked into the room.

“How long have you been up?”

Apparently oblivious to their mum’s shock, the children excitedly told her: “Look Mummy. Look, Santa’s been!”

Her son Preston was clearly thrilled with his Hot Wheels present, but Sarah then spotted that her youngest’s presents had also been ripped open in the excitement.

“Flaming heck!” she said.

“You must have been up for ages!”

She then asked the kids why they didn’t bounce on the bed to wake her up, adding: “You should have bounced on mummy’s bed babe.

“You’ve got stockings upstairs, do you not want to open your stockings?”

And trying to explain why she was so upset by the situation, Sarah told the kids: “I can’t believe this.

“Mummy didn’t get to see you open these things babe!”

“When the kids get up without you and their brother on Christmas morning,” she wrote over the top of the TikTok video.

In the caption of the throwback clip, Sarah, wrote: “When Mitzie & Preston came down before me & their brother Alfie!

“They even opened some of Alfie’s gifts!

“I honestly didn’t know what to do!”

Many people were left stunned after watching the video and rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “Ooh I remember this. You sound like you handled this with grace- how did the rest of your morning go after this?”

To which Sarah replied: “The rest of the day was lovely Thankyou!

“I think I was just in disbelief the whole of Xmas day though. My family thought it was hilarious when I’d sent them all the video Xmas morning.”

Another praised her patience by saying: “Can we just appreciate how the mum dealt with this, like full composure and kindness, you know she’s so devastated but shouting would only make it worse.”

I would be absolutely fuming, my blood is boiling just watching it

But some parents didn’t see the funny side and expressed this in the comments section.

“How did you stay so calm?” a TikTok account asked.

“I could have been crying and everything.”

“I would of been distraught this is heartbreaking for you as a parent,” someone else wrote.

A social media user commented: “I would be absolutely fuming, my blood is boiling just watching it…their brothers presents too.”

Sarah is the founder of parenting group on Facebook called ‘one mum to another-official’.

How to save money on Christmas shopping

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.

Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.

Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.

Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.

Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.

Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.

Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.

Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.

They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
