Weekend in Review: Joe Biden Pardons His Son, Critics Come After Trump Picks
He Crossed His Fingers, Apparently
Joe Biden promised of his convicted felon son in June, “I will not pardon him.” On the first of December, he decided to pardon Hunter Biden for gun- and tax-law violations. That lie seems less offensive than the one he told in attempting to cover up the other one. “I kept my word,” he insisted in his Sunday explanation. Joe Biden? Joe Isuzu? No difference.
“Full and Unconditional Pardon”
The language of Joe Biden’s “full and unconditional pardon” for his son covers “offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in” over an almost 11-year period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024. The short text of the “executive grant of clemency” references a pardon for actions “including but not limited to all offenses charged or prosecuted.” For those feeling as though Hunter Biden received a get-out-of-jail-free pass, note that 50 days remain in the Biden presidency. What’s the chance that this one-man crime wave remains on the righteous path for that long? As a wise man once said, “Cocaine’s a helluva drug.”
Kash Money
Kash Patel boasts a great deal of experience in the executive and legislative branches of the federal government and as a prosecutor and public defender at the state level. His work for Devin Nunes, where he served as the primary author of the former congressman’s eponymous memo, interests his critics most. In it, Patel dared to say, “The emperor has no clothes” regarding the Russia Collusion Hoax. It served as the beginning of the end for many liars employed by the Department of Justice. That Patel causes John Bolton to compare his former boss to Joseph Stalin and his designated director of the FBI Patel to Lavrenty Beria indicates the degree to which this nomination upsets the right people. “Trump has nominated Kash Patel to be his Lavrentiy Beria,” Bolton told Meet the Press. “Fortunately, the FBI is not the NKVD. The Senate should reject this nomination 100-0.” The profoundly corrupt Justice Department requires bold changes to fix. Those wanting to continue along the same lines naturally dislike Patel.
Non-Transgender Women
The New York Times referred to normal women as “non-transgender women” in an article about the controversy over the transgender competing in collegiate women’s volleyball. “NYT- you stink,” nine-time Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova responded. “We are women, not NOT TRANSGENDER WOMEN. Just WOMEN will do in the future.”
What Did Lake Michigan Ever Do to You?
A group of several dozen women gathered on the shores of Lake Michigan on Saturday for a “primal scream” event to let out their rage in the wake of Donald Trump’s reelection to the presidency. Their husbands appreciated the day off from the high-pitched bombardment.
Emo, How Could You?
Ontario’s Human Rights Tribunal fined the town of Emo for refusing to proclaim June as Pride Month. The tribunal also cited Emo for not flying “an LGBTQ2 rainbow flag” despite the town of 1,300 possessing no official flagpole. One would expect such brazen homophobia from Metalhead, Alberta, or Jock, Saskatchewan. But Emo, Ontario? Really?
