He recently snagged the co-host role on Dancing on Ice, is in the hot seat for Deal Or No Deal, is in demand for ad work, and even has a summer show at Butlin’s holiday parks.

He has a property and investment firm worth millions, plus a range of best-selling kids’ books to his name.

The latest figures for his Blue Eye Productions show he earned a fortune between February 2023 and last year, with more than £300,000 a month flowing into his coffers. Its bottom line stood at £4m.

But he also uses the outfit to bankroll his FJDI Productions Ltd, which has property on its books worth £4.2m, with millions more in bricks and mortar added each year.

Last week, there was concern for the You Bet! host after he collapsed in a pizza restaurant in Berkshire.

He was taken to hospital after he collapsed while eating at a Pizza Express on Wednesday.

The telly star, who is mourning the death of his father Christopher, reacted to an anesthetic he had earlier in the day while having a drink.

An ambulance was called for Stephen after staff became concerned for him at around 8pm.

A spokesperson for Stephen said: “Stephen has had an incredibly tough time over the past few weeks. His beloved father recently passed away which has hit him hard and has been understandably very stressful.

“In addition, he had a procedure which took place yesterday (Wednesday). Following the anaesthetic that was administered, he had a few drinks which made him unwell and he was.”

Stephen has been receiving continuous support from his team, ITV bosses and long-term friend and colleague Holly Willoughby.

The former CITV star was born in east London to market trader parents Christopher and Maureen.

He started off as a magician before going on to become one of Britain’s most popular TV presenters.

20 years on TV

By Ellie Henman

TELLY favourite Stephen Mulhern got his big break as a TV host on a kids’ show more than 20 years ago — alongside current Dancing On Ice co-host Holly Willoughby.

Initially with Michael Underwood, they presented Ministry of Mayhem — later rebranded as Holly And Stephen’s Saturday Showdown — on ITV from 2004 until its axe in 2006.

He had earlier used his magic skills to win Jonathan Ross’ Big Big Talent Show, which led to a Royal Variety Performance outing in 1997.

Later, Stephen hosted Britain’s Got More Talent for 12 years until 2019 and joined BGT hosts Ant and Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway in 2016.

That also led to spin-off In For A Penny in 2019.

ITV also picked him for their reboots of Catchphrase and Deal Or No Deal, and he replaced Phillip Schofield on Dancing On Ice — reuniting him with friend Holly.
