Woman sentenced to 10 years for burglary in connection with deadly 2021 home robbery
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her involvement in an April 2021 home robbery that left one man dead, according to court documents.
Tiffany Ruoff entered a guilty plea for burglary habitation intend other felony, court documents said. She was sentenced on Nov. 14.
Ruoff, along with two others, attempted a home invasion in the 6200 block of Boxcar Run in south Austin.
During the incident on April 26, 2021, one of the people with Ruoff, 21-year-old Joseph Mathews, was shot by someone who lived in the home. Mathews died months later from his injuries, according to the Austin Police Department.
Ruoff was initially arrested on a capital murder charge. However, that charge was later dropped, according to online court records.
According to court documents, Ruoff is entitled to 33 days of jail credit.
