Horror as mum with baby is SHOT at by gunman who opened fire on her house
A MUM and her eight-month-old baby have been shot at by a gunman – coming just inches from death.
The woman was in the lounge with her son at the property in Bridge Croft, Huddersfield, when bullets were fired through the window on November 22.
The lounge window remains boarded up[/caption]The suspect rode up to the house on a bicycle around 10.22pm before fleeing the scene, say cops.
Both mum and baby managed to escape unharmed despite being close to death thanks to the double glazing window.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said the bullet got lodged in between the glass layers and didn’t enter the house.
She told YorkshireLive: “I was shocked and scared because I had my eight-month-old here.”
“I had just moved my baby boy from the sofa to a high chair when the window exploded. I screamed. I thought it was a brick [at first].”
The new mum’s lounge window remains boarded up following the terror.
Det Chief Insp Stacey Atkinson said: “The criminal use of firearms on our streets is always something we treat extremely seriously, and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and to identify those responsible.
“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who saw the suspect arriving at or leaving the scene on a bicycle.”
