Woman struck by train found dead near Historic Crew Stadium
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A woman is dead after being struck by a train early Tuesday morning in north Columbus.
According to Columbus police, a “well-dressed” woman was found at around 1 a.m. on the train tracks near Historic Crew Stadium, near East 20th Avenue, west of the stadium in the Fairgrounds area. It is believed that a train traveling southbound hit the woman and a train conductor traveling northbound saw her after she was hit.
Police said the woman had ear buds near her but could not confirm if she was wearing them at the time of the collision. A set of car keys was also found near the victim.
An investigation into what occurred leading up to the woman’s death is ongoing.
