Ahead of Pink ball Test in Adelaide, Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli hit the gym together, check PICS
New Delhi: Indian star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant recently shared a picture with former Indian team captain Virat Kohli and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. The picture was taken three days before the crucial pink-ball Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is scheduled to take place at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on December 6. India tour to Australia for the BGT is very crucial for both the teams to qualify for world test championship final. The Indian team needs to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by a margin of 4-1 or 4-0 to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the WTC 2025 final.
Rishabh Pant impressed in the first innings of the series opener in Perth, scoring 37 runs. However, the southpaw struggled in the second innings, managing to score just one run. However, he had a brilliant home season, amassing 422 runs in five Tests (10 innings), including a century. He will now be looking to score big in the second Test.
The 27-year-old has played just one Test in Adelaide, scoring 25 and 28 in 2018. Virat Kohli and his team won that match by 31 runs and went on to win the series 2-1. Pant was not selected for the most recent encounter at the same venue, where Australia defeated the visitors by eight wickets in 2020.
Pant, however, played a pivotal role in helping the Ajinkya Rahane-led team secure their second consecutive series win in Australia in 2020-21. The southpaw scored 274 runs in three Tests at an average of 68.50, with notable innings of 97 and 89*.
In addition to his international cricket career, Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history at the 2025 auction. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made a huge investment, acquiring him for a whopping INR 27 crore.
Virat Kohli heads into the upcoming Test on the back of his landmark 30th century in the format. The 36-year-old notched his seventh ton in Australia during the second innings of the Perth Test, marking his first Test century in 16 months. India cruised to a dominant 295-run victory, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Kohli has a phenomenal record in Adelaide, having amassed 509 runs in four Tests at an impressive average of 63.63, which includes three centuries and a half-century. Across 14 Tests in Australia, he has accumulated 1,457 runs at an average of 56.04. With his current form, the Indian star will be eager to extend his purple patch Down Under.
