3 big changes by Amorim | Expected Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Arsenal with Ugarte & Hojlund decisions made
Manchester United take on rivals Arsenal in today’s Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium.
The Red Devils have had a good start under manager Ruben Amorim with two wins and one draw from three games in all competitions.
The club are presently four points adrift of the Champions League places in the league. A victory against Arsenal would be a huge statement.
United are winless in the last three meetings against the Gunners and will be aiming to end the streak.
Formation: 3-4-2-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana has had a superb start to the campaign with the Red Devils. He has made multiple outstanding saves. He is an automatic starter in goal.
There will be an enforced change in the back three due to Lisandro Martinez’s suspension.
Luke Shaw would have been the ideal replacement for the Argentine, but the Englishman will be sidelined for a while after picking up a fresh muscle injury in training.
In that case, Harry Maguire looks poised to start alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. Victor Lindelof is injured while Leny Yoro may not be risked in the XI.
The wonderkid has just returned to regular training after foot surgery and could make his debut off the bench.
In our view, Mazraoui should start on the left side of the back three to tackle the attacking threat of Bukayo Saka.
Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot have been brilliant from the right and left wing-back positions respectively and the duo should keep their places.
In midfield, Manuel Ugarte is expected to replace the suspended Kobbie Mainoo. The Uruguayan will most likely partner Casemiro in the centre of the park against Arsenal.
Bruno Fernandes bagged two assists in the 4-0 rout of Everton. The United captain is finding form at the right time. He is a nailed-on starter in one of the attacking midfield roles.
Marcus Rashford should get the nod alongside him after two goals at the weekend, but we anticipate Joshua Zirkzee to drop to the bench. Rasmus Hojlund should lead the attack.
Zirkzee and Hojlund have netted two goals in their last starts for the club. The latter should be picked against Arsenal. His physical presence could unsettle the Gunners backline.
