Tottenham enter the race to sign ‘the next N’Golo Kante’
Tottenham Hotspur have now reportedly set their sights on signing a French starlet, who has been making waves in Ligue 1 of late.
Tottenham want to reinforce their midfield in January
Several outlets have reported over the past few weeks that Ange Postecoglou is prioritising signing a midfielder when the transfer window reopens next month.
The likes of Lille’s Angel Gomes and AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders have been heavily linked with a move to the North London club for weeks.
It has now emerged that the Lilywhites have their eye on a youngster who is being backed to reach the very top in the near future.
Spurs enter the race for exciting Valentin Atangana
This latest update comes from The Sun, who say that Reims’ young midfield star Valentin Atangana is now on Tottenham‘s shortlist of targets.
The report reveals that the North London club are facing competition for the 19-year-old’s signature from fellow Premier League side, Aston Villa.
The outlet adds that the teenager has been earning rave reviews this season, with many talent spotters considering him to be the next N’Golo Kante.
Tottenham need readymade additions
Some Spurs fans will be wary of Tottenham going for potential over-established performers, just as they did in the summer.
The likes of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have not been able to establish themselves as starters and the same could happen with Atangana, who is not the finished product at the moment.
One can argue that Postecoglou needs options that are proven at the highest level if he is going to live up to his promise and end the club’s trophy drought this season.
