Bournemouth vs Spurs four-goal thriller predicted by Chris Sutton
Chris Sutton has made his prediction for Bournemouth vs Spurs and he does not expect either team to be keeping a clean sheet.
A potential goal fest for Bournemouth vs Spurs
Tottenham love to score goals under Ange Postecoglou. The Lilywhites have found the back of the net 28 times this season in the Premier League, which is more than any other team, while only their London rivals, Arsenal and Crystal Palace, have managed to keep clean sheets against them.
Their upcoming opponents, AFC Bournemouth, are also doing all right in attack, scoring 20 times in the league and also only being denied a goal in two matches, against Leicester City and Chelsea, while they put four past Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
And the chances of goals during the Thursday night clash are looking ever more likely with neither side having a defensive record to boast about. Bournemouth only have one clean sheet all season, which they achieved against an Arsenal team reduced to 10 men for most of the game, while Spurs have just three and are still without their starting centre-backs.
Chris Sutton has little confidence in Tottenham
Sutton believes Bournemouth are the more likely team to win their midweek fixture against Spurs. But he expects a close game, as both sides will look to create chances.
Making his prediction on the BBC, he said: “Good luck to anyone trying to predict this one. The only thing I am sure about is that there will be a lot of goals.
“Wolves went toe to toe with Bournemouth on Saturday and the Cherries created chance after chance.
“Tottenham will go toe to toe with the Cherries too, and there are going to be a lot of opportunities at both ends.
I don’t want to go for another draw this week, and I think Bournemouth are more likely to edge it… but rather than trying to pick a winner I am going to say they will share the points.”
Sutton’s prediction: 2-2
Will Spurs turn up against Bournemouth?
Tottenham’s form in the Premier League has continued to baffle those trying to make sense of their results. Spurs have won matches they were expected to lose and lost matches they ought to have won.
When considering how many players were out with injuries or illnesses against Fulham, Tottenham’s poor performance on Sunday is easier to understand, and with the likes of Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski back in the starting lineup, perhaps Spurs will be able to secure the all-important three points.
