Spotify Wrapped: How to view, share your personalized recap

(NEXSTAR) — For music lovers and podcast fanatics, Spotify Wrapped season is the best time of year. The personalized recap covers the users' listening data for the year, down to details like how many minutes they spent listening to the app.

If you enjoy your Wrapped enough that you want to show it off to everyone on social media, you can do that, too.

Typically, the first time you open Spotify — either in the mobile app or online — after Wrapped is released, you will be greeted by a prompt to view your interactive recap.

Spotify often keeps your Wrapped, as well as the playlists it creates based on the roundup, on the home screen as well. Should yours disappear, you will be able to find it again by searching for it in the app or while logged in on the Spotify website.

After you view your Spotify Wrapped for the first time, you will have the opportunity to share it on social media. Once you tap the ‘share’ button at the end of your Wrapped story, you’ll be given a link to copy and paste, or shortcuts to post directly to your app of choice.

What else can I learn with my Spotify data?

There are a handful of third-party sites that you can connect your Spotify account to that will analyze your Wrapped data.

How Bad is Your Spotify is an AI bot that judges your music taste. Receiptify gives you your top songs on a sharable graphic that looks like, yes, a receipt. Instafest gives you your own personal music festival-style lineup based on your top artists. How NPRCore Are You assesses how similar your music taste is to NPR Music's.

What if I don’t have Spotify?

Other major streaming platforms such as Apple Music and YouTube Music have developed their own versions of Wrapped in recent years.

Apple Music’s Replay not only gives its subscribers a year-end digest of their listening habits but monthly summaries as well — a feature that helps differentiate itself from the one-time Spotify recap. It was released on Dec. 3.

YouTube Music, meanwhile, has a similar end-of-the-year release for its listeners, as well as periodic seasonal releases throughout the year. It released its annual Recap for users earlier this month.
