Convicted Troy man pleads guilty to escaping halfway house
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A convicted Troy man pleaded guilty to escaping a halfway house for 17 days in October. Court officials said Dyshawn Fisher, 29, admitted to escaping from Horizon House in Albany.
Previously convicted of several felonies for drug tracking and gun charges in November 2020, Fisher was serving a sentence of six years and four months when he escaped from Horizon House on Tuesday, October 1. Fisher was arrested in Cohoes on Thursday, October 17.
Fisher's sentencing for his escape is on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. He faces a maximum term of five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and probation for up to three years.
