WATCH: Vaibhav Suryavanshi goes INSANE, smashes unbeaten 76 against UAE in U-19 Asia Cup

New Delhi: On the same Sharjah ground where Sachin Tendulkar once dazzled the world with a barrage of sixes and fours, 13-year-old batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has now made his mark. In an Under-19 Asia Cup match against the UAE, this Indian opener displayed aggressive batting. Vaibhav wasted no time in showcasing his flair as soon as he stepped onto the crease. The left-handed batsman hit a six on the very first ball. After witnessing his bold approach, the UAE bowlers attempted to intimidate him, but Vaibhav responded by smashing four more sixes off the next 10 balls. Vaibhav brought up his half-century in just 32 balls, marking his first-ever half-century in the Under-19 Asia Cup.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi got the strike on the second ball of the second over and hit a slog sweep for a six off Ali Asgar’s delivery. The six was so long that even the commentators were left astonished. After that, Suryavanshi hit a long six off the third and fifth balls of Ayan Khan’s over. In the fourth over, Vaibhav smashed another big shot for a six. Though he is just 13 years old, Vaibhav hit all these sixes between 80 to 90 meters, showcasing his immense power.

This innings was crucial for Vaibhav Suryavanshi as he had not been able to express himself in the previous two matches. Against Pakistan, he could score only one run, and against Japan, he made just 23 runs. However, the way he batted against UAE clearly showed why Rajasthan Royals purchased him for ₹1.1 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. Watching Vaibhav’s style of batting, it seems likely that he could open the batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in IPL 2025.
