Who is Samantha Miller’s mom Lisa and what has she said about Jamie Lee Koromoski’s DUI sentencing?
LISA Miller is the mom of the late Samantha Miller, who was tragically killed when Jaime Lee Koromoski crashed into her vehicle.
Koromoski, who was driving under the influence, was sentenced on December 3, 2024.
Samantha’s wedding
Lisa attended her daughter’s wedding in April 2023, in Folly Beach, South Carolina.
Samantha married Aric Hutchinson in a ceremony so beautiful that her sister described it as the “happiest day of her life.”
However, Samantha died that same night after Komoroski’s car collided with her vehicle at 65mph.
Komoroski, who was 25 years old at the time, was driving under the influence and was 40mph over the speed limit.
Samantha’s sister Mandi revealed that Lisa knew something was wrong when she heard sirens in the distance.
Mandi said: “And mom looked at us and said, ‘Something happened to Sam.’
“She knew it, and she felt it in her gut.”
Lisa and Aric’s feud
After her daughter’s death, Lisa became embroiled in a bitter legal dispute with her husband Aric.
Aric had been with Samantha during the tragic car accident and sustained life-altering injuries.
As he had married Samantha before her death, he was entitled to represent her estate.
Lisa told the Post and Courier: “Aric and I agreed several times that Sam would want us to do everything together given we’re the two most important people in her life.
“I never wanted to challenge the validity of the marriage. I never wanted to dishonor Sam. But I feel like Aric is dishonoring my daughter in going against her wishes.”
Aric’s lawyer responded: “Aric has been more than generous with Lisa Miller — offering her half of the money — and she has repaid him by threatening to bring a frivolous challenge to the validity of his marriage to Sam.
One would hope that Ms. Miller would have too much respect for her own daughter to do that.”
Courtroom fury
Komoroski was given a 25-year prison sentence for driving under the influence and causing Samantha’s death.
Samantha’s father Brad spoke in court during the trial and said: “You have ruined so many people’s lives, and I hope you understand what you did.”
He added: “For the rest of my life I’m always going to hate you, and when you arrive in Hell, I’m going to open the gate for you.”
Aric spoke in court too and said: “I’ve seen more doctors, therapists, and psychiatrists than I can count, and I still feel the same as I did when I found out that day.
“I wish I had died that night. I wish I had seen it coming. I’d have jumped off the golf cart so that you’d only have run me over.
“We did not get hit, we got ran through at 65mph.”
