Taylor Swift’s ex Matty Healy in furious row with Azealia Banks as he threatens to ‘slap her’ before deleting tweet
TAYLOR Swift’s ex-boyfriend Matty Healy has gone head-to-head with rapper Azealia Banks, with him even making a threat before backtracking.
On Tuesday, The 1975 frontman branded the rapper “jealous” after Azealia took aim at Charli XCX.
Azealia, 33, slammed the Apple singer when she critiqued her appearance on social media.
“Charli used to be sooo pretty. Ugh,” she penned alongside a video of Charli from earlier in her career.
Matty, 35, then weighed in and defended his bandmate’s fiancee when he said: “Azealia you seem to have a blind spot when it comes to your ‘reads’.
“All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive, and NICE people.
“I think this makes you jealous cos you’re so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro.”
Matty’s bandmate George Daniel is engaged to Charli, which is likely why he got involved after seeing Azealia’s comments.
The rapping sensation then fired back with: “Hmmmm. That wasn’t a read.
“I’ve known Charli since she was 16 and always thought she was absolutely gorgeous, but there’s a stark contrast between this and this,” alongside a snap of Charli from more than a decade ago, and a more recent photo.
She continued: “Alas, I still don’t know any of your music but make sure you keep all that sh** behind your keyboard.”
ONLINE FEUD
Azealia didn’t stop there, because she soon slammed Matty again and even compared him to “Frankenstein”.
Matty initially said how he wanted to “slap” the rapper when he said: “I’ll f******slap you so hard I’ll get a Guinness world record for the highest a rat some bitch calls a wig has ever flown.”
But he quickly regretted what he said and backtracked, adding: “Nah I can’t be saying I’m gonna hit a girl that’s insane I’m sorry.
“You just can’t keep being so mean about my mates and my mrs it’s really hurtful gets me well defensive.”
‘NOT COOL’
Matty then deleted the post and said it “was not cool” even if he was angry.

“Ok I’m gonna delete that tweet that was not cool even if I was angry,” he said.
Matty then added, “I’m just having fun with my friends on the computer :).”
This isn’t the first time that Matty and Azealia have gone head-to-head on social media.
NOT THE FIRST TIME THEY’VE ARGUED
Many people will likely remember when Azealia went up against Matty in May 2023 when The 1975 singer was romantically linked to Taylor Swift.
Taking aim at the British singer amid his romance with the American hitmaker, Azealia brought up the racist comments Matty had previously made about the rapper Ice Spice during an appearance on The Adam Friedland Podcast.
At the time, Azealia shared a photo of Matty on-stage alongside a headline referencing his on-stage apology for his comments about Ice Spice.
“Does Matt Healy know that no one actually thinks the 1975 makes good music,” she penned.
Azealia added: “And that he’s a lame poser with a trash cliche band name that actually means nothing and he’s clearly so pressed that a black girl who knows nothing about him or his music is making more moves and money than him.”
She then said: “Black women are more coveted todays industry because there’s BIG BUSINESS in female rap.
“He is so obviously weak in the knees, thin-jawed, and drug addicted that it’s easy to catch his crusty a** lackin.”
She then said that Ice Spice had “MILES more originality than you will ever,” adding: “The 1975 is on nobody’s radar babe.”
Taylor Swift and Matty Healy were romantically linked in May 2023, shortly after the hitmaker split from her longtime beau Joe Alwyn.
Matty and Taylor’s romance only lasted for around one month before they called it quits.
