Russia sends 28 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has announced the delivery of another humanitarian aid shipment to Afghanistan. The shipment, which includes 28 tons of food, was sent under the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to a report by TASS News Agency, 28 tons of food were sent to Kabul on Wednesday, December 4.

Earlier, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that more than $603 million was needed to address the growing needs of vulnerable populations in Afghanistan during the upcoming winter.

The UN also mentioned that $15 million had been allocated to support vulnerable individuals through both private and public organizations in the country.

Since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, poverty among families has increased due to the lack of jobs and a decrease in international aid. However, with the arrival of winter, the needs of citizens, particularly those in remote and difficult-to-reach areas, become even more pressing. These people require additional assistance to survive the harsh conditions.

The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan is growing more dire as the country faces a shortage of funding and increased suffering among its population.

International aid organizations are struggling to meet the needs of the people due to limited resources and the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict and political instability.

Furthermore, the lack of competent governance and coordination within the country has exacerbated the situation, leaving millions of Afghans without the basic necessities for survival.
