The Great Train Extravaganza pulls into Empire State Plaza
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- It's full steam ahead for one of the largest model train events in the Capital Region. The Great Train Extravaganza returns to the Empire State Convention Center in Albany on Sunday.
More than 60 vendors will be offering new and used trains for sale, plus clothing, memorabilia, photographs, and accessories. All the money from the event will go toward buying train sets to benefit Toys for Tots.
“We have been able to buy dozens and dozens of train sets over the years to donate for Toys for Tots and spark the love of model railroading in new generations,” organizer Sarah Lauser said.
The show takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday before the New York Tree Lighting Ceremony.
