Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State put an end to their five-game losing streak on Thursday night with a hard-fought 99-93 victory over the Houston Rockets. With the team missing stars Steph Curry and Draymond Green due to injury management, the Warriors had to lean on their depth to carry them in this one.
The wing duo of Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga rose to the occasion, combining for 56 points. Kuminga, in particular, delivered a career-high 33 points, punctuated by a clutch contested drive in the game’s final moments to seal their 15th straight victory over the Rockets.

What to watch for tonight:
Golden State will go into Friday’s game a lot healthier with both Curry and Green listed as probable on the injury report. Wiggins, however, is listed as questionable, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he sat out this second night of a back-to-back as he continues to fight through an ankle injury of his own.
Steph Curry and Draymond Green are both on track to return against the Timberwolves tonight. Listed as probable. Andrew Wiggins is questionable. Battling an ankle issue.

Steve Kerr said Andrew Wiggins probably wouldn’t have played tonight if Curry/Draymond weren’t out. He’s dealing with a painful ankle issue. Wiggins said he did it in the Thunder game and is pushing through it. pic.twitter.com/PGcfnFK2rG

The Timberwolves currently own a four-game winning streak against the Warriors dating back to the 2022-23 season. However, this is a much different Wolves team than years prior after they traded longtime big man Karl Anthony-Towns to the New York Knicks in the offseason.
This paved the way for emerging two-way superstar Anthony Edwards to become the new face of the franchise. Edwards leads the Timberwolves with 26.2 points per game, alongside Julius Randle, the former All-Star acquired from the Knicks trade, who is providing a secondary scoring punch of his own with 21.0 points per game this season.
Defensively, Minnesota has a cast of highly athletic wings surrounding their defensive anchor, Rudy Gobert. The former Defensive Player of the Year is averaging 1.5 blocks per game and is a big reason why Minnesota ranks 6th in the league in defensive rating.
The Warriors’ ability to play small has always been a good counter to Gobert’s length and size at the rim. With Curry and Green back in the lineup, expect a heavy dose of small ball to draw Gobert to the perimeter where his value on defense greatly diminishes.
