Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody leave game with injuries
The injury woes continue.
The Golden State Warriors got some reinforcements ahead of Friday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Steph Curry and Draymond Green both returned following absences, inserting some star power back into the lineup. But the good injury news didn’t last long, as the Warriors lost a pair of players to injury during the game, with wings Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody both exiting and not returning.
Wiggins has been dealing with an ankle impingement for a while, and was listed as questionable on the injury report before the game. Steve Kerr admitted that Wiggins likely would have sat during Thursday’s win over the Houston Rockets had Curry and Green not both been sidelined. Instead, Wiggins not only played, but turned in a star performance. Unfortunately, he seemed to cause further damage to his ankle just moments into the second half, and was replaced by Lindy Waters III. Wiggins went to the locker room, and shortly afterwards the Warriors ruled him out for the rest of the game.
When announcing that Wiggins would remain out, the Warriors also noted that Moody would not return to the game. Moody, who apparently suffered a knee impingement, did not come out of the locker room after halftime. He played seven minutes in the first half.
We’ll have to wait until after the game, and possibly into the weekend to get an update on Wiggins and Moody. Hopefully neither player’s ailment is serious. The Warriors have an off-day on Saturday, before facing the Wolves again on Sunday.
