A man was arrested in Madikeri for allegedly defrauding the Kodagu District Central Cooperative Bank by pledging fake gold jewelry worth Rs 15.13 lakh. The bank president suspects a larger gang is involved and has urged a thorough police investigation to protect other financial institutions.
