Kate Middleton’s clever festive fashion hack that she stole from the Queen – & there’s a symbolic meaning behind it too

KATE Middleton swears by a clever fashion hack that she stole from the late Queen Elizabeth.

The Princess of Wales, 42, who dazzled in red at last night’s Christmas Carol service, is often spotted employing a style technique favoured by Her Majesty

Poised to one day ascend the throne herself, the mum-of-three has already tweaked her wardrobe in anticipation of her future role, reports OK!.

The beloved Queen was famous for her bright, colour-drenched ensembles, opting for a single hue from head to toe.

Embracing this approach, Kate was seen completely clad in white at her annual Christmas Carol concert last year

And last night, she stepped out in a stunning red coat, also demonstrating her desire to be bold with her fashion choices

Whilst Kate has given a somewhat subdued spin on her husband’s grandmother’s fashion rules, as she frequently appears in whites and beiges, in contrast to the monarch’s preference for vivid shades, she is of course keen to rock red and colour-drenched looks during the festive season in particular.

It comes after Queen Elizabeth II famously said: “If I wore beige, nobody would know who I am.”

But there’s a deeper meaning behind the late Queen and Kate’s bright fashion attire – as it’s not just for visibility among the public but also for safety reasons too.

Fashion editor Katherine Ormerod claimed: “It marks her out immediately of her security team.

“It’s a question of safety.”

Whilst Kate styled her red coat with black boots at last night’s Carol service, just this week, she donned her colour-blocked style choice with a regal burgundy coat, complete with matching accessories.

And as is typical of Kate’s thoughtful wardrobe decisions, an expert has claimed that there is a symbolic message behind her look last night.

An expert recently told Forbes: “This vivid and cheery colour is associated with our primal survival and signifies strength and resilience

Kate Middleton's love of recycling clothes

KATE Middleton might be a Princess, but that certainly doesn't stop her from rewearing her favourite frocks.

Jenny Packham Gown: She first worn the frock to an ARK Gala Dinner in June 2011, and then rewore it three years later to the National Portrait Gallery in February 2014.

Alexander McQueen Coat Dress: Kate donned the beautiful number for Trooping the Colour in June 2016 and then just a year later, was spotted in it again for the Easter Service, in April 2017.

Temperley London Dress: She first wore the black lace dress at the War Horse Premiere, in January 2012, but then, just months later, donned it again, at the St. Andrews University Gala, in December 2012.

Hobbs Coat: Even Kate is a fan of a staple coat, as she’s reworn a classic number from Hobbs, which she first wore on Christmas Day in December 2012, and then again on a visit to Newcastle, in October 2013.

Kate Middleton’s sartorial choices continue to inspire many, proving that elegance and sustainability can go hand in hand.

“Subconsciously, red inspires and helps the wearer to take action and succeed.

“Like it or not, clothes and colours are connected to our subconscious.”

The beauty product which is 'key to Kate Middleton's glow'

WHEN your schedule is as busy as Kate’s, making the most of your beauty sleep is vital for maintaining glowing skin.

She is known to make her skincare products work overtime when she’s catching Zs by lathering up in elixirs.

Insiders claim that the Beuti Skincare Beauty Sleep Elixir is her go-to, and she keeps a stash of bottles on her nightstand.

The £47 product contains 14 plant-based oils that slow down the enzyme responsible for ageing and prevent the breakdown of collagen, the protein in our skin that stops it from sagging.

Collagen gives skin a plump appearance but starts deteriorating in our mid-20s, so Kate is beating the natural ageing process by delaying how quickly it breaks down.

The Princess of Wales left royal fans open-mouthed at her Christmas event last night, with the effort behind the concerts, championed by the Royal Foundation, rooted in Kate’s initiative to celebrate community spirit amidst adversities.

Royal expert Robert Jobson shared: “The idea of getting people together really appeals to her and holding a concert has proved the perfect vehicle.

“It went so well in that first year, she wanted to build on the success and keep the momentum going.

“I’m sure she’ll have willed for it to go ahead again, despite her health challenges.”
