How Daniel Levy and Spurs hierarchy feel about Ange Postecoglou’s future
The Spurs hierarchy’s stance on Ange Postecoglou has been revealed amidst calls from some fans and pundits for the Australian to get the sack.
Is Ange Postecoglou a dead man walking at Spurs?
The loss to Bournemouth feels like a seminal moment in Postecoglou‘s rein at Tottenham.
The reaction of the away fans had an end-of-an-era feel about it, not too dissimilar to the reaction of the home fans after Nuno Espirito Santo’s final game in charge of Manchester United.
Several pundits, including Jamie O’Hara, have suggested that the Australian will inevitably lose his job if he does not turn things around soon (talkSPORT).
Tottenham’s stance on Postecoglou
However, TBR Football have now revealed that there is still belief at Tottenham that the Australian can see out the project he has started at N17.
The club hierarchy are said to be aware of Postecoglou‘s current struggles to put a team out on the pitch, given the injury crisis that Spurs are experiencing.
The outlet adds that while Daniel Levy is keen not to let Tottenham’s standards slip, he and the rest of the hierarchy are cognizant of the fact that no one is working harder than the 59-year-old to set things right.
The injury issues cannot be glazed over
The one thing that pundits and some fans seem to be completely missing in the discussion about the team’s recent form is our injury situation.
Given how tight the Premier League is this season, having seven or eight players out is going to severely affect any side, let alone one with a relatively thin squad.
That should not absolve Postecoglou of any blame, but it would only be fair to wait until some of our key players are back before making an assessment.
