Election day in Louisiana as voters head to the polls
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Voting is underway in Louisiana for the December 7th elections.
Polls for the election opened at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. tonight.
There are 4 statewide Constitutional Amendments being decided in every parish. Youngsville has runoff Elections for Police Chief and Council Seat D. New Iberia has two runoff elections for Council Seat 2 and 5. Pine Prairie voters will be electing a new Police Chief in the runoff election there.
Tax issues are being voted on in several areas. St. Martin Parish voters are being asked to extend the tax for the Libraries. Franklin voters are being asked to approve a new sales tax for Police and Fire. In Erath, voters are being asked to approve a new sales tax for the Police Department. In Baldwin, voters are being asked to approve a new tax for Police and the Fire Departments.
