Other Debutantes Revealed What Apple Martin Was Really Like Amid Debutante Debut Controversy
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple Martin, found herself in a bit of controversy earlier this month during her debut at the Le Bal des Debutantes. Many claimed she was a mean girl, and stole the show from another fellow debutante. However, that debutante just revealed what debuting with Apple was really like.
In case you missed it, Apple made her debut at le Bal des Debutantes on Nov 30, and the account @parismatch shared a TikTok that shows we see photographers taking photos of another debutante, Alienor Loppin de Montmort. Then, Apple comes from the side, exaggeratedly stepping next to her and posing for the camera herself. Because of this, many claimed that she was stealing Aleinor’s thunder.
Aliénor then told her side of the story to People, and told everyone what being with Apple on the big day was actually like. Hint: she set the record straight, and defended Apple.
“[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever! She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting,” she said to the outlet. “She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs!”
So there you have it! It was truly a misunderstanding, and Alienor had nothing but good things to say about the fellow debutante.
For those who don’t know, Paltrow and Martin’s daughter, Apple Blythe Alison Martin, was born on May 14, 2004. In recent years, she’s attended Vanderbilt University, made her fashion week debut in 2023, and has been modeling on and off.
While she has yet to publicly talk about le Bal or this controversy, Apple did give rare details about her fashion sense. In a previous interview with Vogue, Apple revealed that she adores 1990s fashion, saying, “I love sweaters and oversized cardigans, loafers, and a good pair of comfy Levis. The most important thing for me is feeling like my genuine self when wearing an outfit; I’m aiming for a mix of classic ’90s and cool grandpa.”
