Timothée Chalamet KNOWS BALL and impressed fans with his GameDay picks

Timothée Chalamet joined ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday from the SEC championship game between No. 2 Texas and No. 5 Georgia, and the Dune actor didn’t disappoint with his appearance. In fact, he impressed college football fans quite a bit, beyond putting up $400,000 on the field goal challenge (and almost regretting it).

Turns out, Chalamet KNOWS BALL, and he showed off his college football knowledge when making his picks with Nick Saban, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee.

ESPN delivered a supercut of all Chalamet’s GameDay picks, and sure, he had notes in front of him like a lot of guest pickers, but he clearly watches the sport and knows what he’s talking about. He had stats and program culture knowledge to back up his predictions, and he was absolutely captivating.

For his conference championship picks, Chalamet went with Jackson State over Southern in the SWAC game, Ohio over Miami (Ohio) in the MAC game, Louisiana over Marshall in the Sun Belt game, Arizona State over Iowa State in the Big 12 game, SMU over Clemson in the ACC game, Oregon over Penn State in the Big Ten game and Texas over Georgia in the SEC game.

Hilariously, Chalamet’s rationale for picking the Longhorns over the Bulldogs boiled down to his Interstellar “movie dad,” Matthew McConaughey, and apologized to Georgia fans for his pick.
