Juan Soto Rumors: Juicy Update On Red Sox, Decision Timeline

The Red Sox and the rest of MLB arrive in Dallas on Sunday for the Winter Meetings Monday, and fans are eager for any type of Juan Soto report.

Boston reportedly bid around $700 million for the All-Star outfielder. The Red Sox are contending with the New York clubs, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers, who didn’t make a similar bid, for Soto’s services.

Multiple reports indicated that Soto could decide on a team before the MLB Winter Meetings. That still is up in the air, but it probably won’t happen Saturday.

“This can always change, of course, but source deems it ‘unlikely’ that a Soto decision is made (Saturday),” MassLive’s Sean McAdam posted on X. “Better chance of it happening Sunday. Also, Red Sox still in the running.”

There are mixed reports on where Boston stands in the Soto sweepstakes, but the majority are in lockstep with McAdam that it still has a realistic shot.

Fans will remain anxious over a decision even after McAdam’s report. While it should allow fans to be productive with their Saturday and stop refreshing social media, human nature probably means they’ll just keep waiting for another report.
