Volunteers buy winter necessities for families in need in NYC

HERALD SQUARE, Manhattan (PIX11) – Catholic Charities volunteers took to the aisles to buy winter necessities for families in need on Saturday morning.

Volunteers browsed the aisles of Old Navy on West 34th Street and picked up hats, coats, gloves, and many other winter necessities for 115 families.

The initiative is part of the staple St. Nicholas Project by Catholic Charities which helps New York City families. The organization donates essential items and connects people in need to much-needed services.

This year marks the 20th annual shopping day for the St. Nicholas Project.
