Winners in Canada – Pan Am Circuit 2024
The last Pan Am Circuit 2024 event had Pan Am athletes from Brazil, Canada, and United States as medalists. The YONEX Canadian International Challenge 2024 was held in Markham, Canada, from December 3 to 8.

Brazilians shined with 2 gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Juliana Viana Vieira in Singles and Fabricio Farias & Jaqueline Lima got the golds, while Davi Silva & Sania Lima won silver in Mixed Doubles and Jaqueline Lima & Samia Lima reached the bronze in Women’s Doubles.
Juliana reached the Women’s Singles podium top after defeating 5 players from Canada, including Olympian Michelle Li. They faced each other in the final, with a victory for the Brazilian in a 3-games-match 21-18, 14-21, 21-17. Locals Rachel Chan and Chloe Hoang got the bronze medals of the event.
In Mixed Doubles, Farias/Lima duo got the crown after defeating pairs from Canada and United States, facing the other Brazilian duo Silva/Lima in the final. The bronze medals were for Canadians Jonathan Bing/Crystal Lai and Ty Lindeman/Jacqueline Cheung.
Brian Yang won the gold medal in Men’s Singles after defeating players from Canada, Luxembourg, and United States. In the Final, Brian defeated Victor Lai (CAN) in straight games. Timothy Lock (CAN) got the bronze medal along with Simon Baron (FRA).
Chen Zi Yi and Presley Smith (USA) were the winners in Men’s Doubles. They started the competition as seeded 1 duo and defeated pairs from Canada, Scotland, and Indonesia to reach the final where the defeated Ty Lindeman/Kevin Lee in straight games (21-11, 21-9). Peter Briggs/Rasmus Fladberg (CAN/DEN) and Rian Agung/Danang Dwi (INA) got the bronze medals.
Jacqueline Cheung and Catherine Choi (CAN) got the silver medal in Women’s Doubles after defeating duos from Canada and seeded 2 duo from Brazil, but lost in the final against Wan/Chaio (TPE). Seeded 1 duo Jackie Dent/Crystal Lai (CAN) and Jaqueline Lima/Samia Lima (BRA) reached the bronze medals of the event.
The Pan Am Circuit 2024 concluded with this event and our athletes are preparing for the 2025 circuit with the events already published in our calendar.
