Ex-Red Sox Star Reportedly Stays Put On New Deal With Rangers

The Boston Red Sox watched another capable starting pitcher come off the free agent market Tuesday night.

Nathan Eovaldi agreed to terms to stay with the Texas Rangers on a three-year deal for $75 million, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan and FanSided’s Robert Murray.

The two-time World Series champion continues to produce at a satisfactory level into his mid-30s. Eovaldi tallied his fifth straight season with a sub-4.00 ERA and earned 12 wins with the Rangers in 2024. Eovaldi now stays put in Arlington with the support to pitch at a high level again and drive Texas as the arguable top arm for the Rangers.

Back in Boston, the Red Sox need to put their best foot forward for Corbin Burnes and get simultaneously ready for an impact trade.
