David Miller edges closer to HISTORIC landmark following impressive knock in 1st Pakistan T20I

South Africa’s David Miller once again showcased his explosive batting skills as he tore apart the Pakistan bowling attack with a fabulous knock of 82 runs off just 40 deliveries. This innings carried South Africa to a fighting total of 183/9 in 20 overs which proved to be too much for the visitors, who were only able to post 172 runs in their 20 overs.

Miller hit 4 boundaries and 8 towering sixes in his innings which propelled the Proteas to an 11-run victory in Durban. This knock saw Miller reach 2550 runs in T20Is, leaving him only 35 runs behind from Quinton de Kock to become the highest-scorer in the shortest format for his country.

While de Kock currently has more runs than Miller in the format, the latter has both a better average and a better strike-rate than the former.

De Kock has accumulated his runs at a strike rate of 138.32 and an average of 31.51 whereas Miller’s T20I runs have come at a strike rate of 141.19 and an average of 33.55.

Miller also entered an elite list with his sensational knock against Pakistan as he became only the sixth player to score 400 or more runs against the Men in Green. The South Africa batter has scored exactly 400 runs from 15 innings against Pakistan in the shortest format, scoring 3 fifties.

The list is currently led by New Zealand’s Kane Williamson with 667 runs followed by his teammates Mark Chapman (541 runs), Martin Guptill (526 runs), India’s Virat Kohli (492 runs) and England’s Eoin Morgan (427 runs).
