19-year-old midfielder signs new deal to commit his future to Man United - Official Photo

Ruben Curley has signed a new deal to commit his future to Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been involved in first-team training since Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim arrived last month and could soon be making his debut.

Curley was named Scholar of the Year last season following an incredible campaign in the Man United youth ranks.

He has now been rewarded with a new deal, which he confirmed on social media platform Instagram.

Man United under-18s won the Premier League North under-18s title, the Premier League under-18s national title and the Premier League Cup last term.

The teenage sensation played a key role in the treble-winning campaign.

While Curley has had limited chances in recent weeks, he is widely seen as an exemplary role model to his peers in the academy set-up.

Curley played 14 games for the under-21s last term, bagging a goal. He weighed in with three goals in 19 under-18s appearances.

He has played six times across the Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy this term, and it will be intriguing to see if he can force his way into Amorim’s plans.

Kobbie Mainoo has established himself as a key first-team player, and Curley will be desperate to emulate his former academy teammate.

The Englishman proved that he is made of steel after bouncing back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury he sustained in 2023.

Curley spent around a year on the sidelines but emerged a better player afterwards to help the under-18s win the domestic treble last term, and his resilience could get him into the senior team.

Amorim has a track record of giving youngsters the chance to prove themselves, and Curley will get an opportunity if he can show he is good enough in first-team training.
