Armed police storm caravan after man seen ‘firing pellets’ at biker
Armed police arrested a man in a West London caravan in the early hours of this morning after a suspected shooting in Acton.
Police were called at around 3am to reports of shots fired at a motorbike rider, whose condition remains unknown, in a car park in Curricle Street, Acton.
The suspected gunman is believed to have fled to a caravan in Essex Park Mews in the same area, which armed police later stormed.
Police arrested a man during the caravan park raid on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
The suspect remains in police custody with an investigation ongoing.
Officers also found a weapon, thought to be a pellet gun, in the caravan.
A Met Police spokesperson said: ‘We take incidents involving firearms extremely seriously, and our officers acted swiftly to ensure public safety.’
Police have urged the public to avoid the area in question while they investigate.
It has not yet been confirmed whether any officers were injured in the raid or the shooting.
Just a matter of days ago, another incident in Acton resulted in the death of a 33-year-old father.
Nash Clyne, originally from Grenada, was killed after witnesses saw him being chased down Acton High Street by a gang of four wielding a tomahawk axe and broken glasses.
