Commuters were left stunned after a man sat on a moped was seen getting onto a London train.

The man was spotted sat on the bike in the carriage of a train by former MP Tim Loughton, who pictured the moment.

In the photo, a brown-haired man is perched on his motorbike totally unbothered that he’s blocking a large portion of the rammed carriage.

The former MP, seemingly outraged, captioned the photo: ‘Seen it all now. Getting on a crowded commuter train at London Bridge and this joker is blocking half the carriage sitting on his motorbike!’

The post went viral on X, so far gaining one million views and 14,000 likes.

Stunned Tweeters took to the comments section to express their disillusion at what they’d just seen.

@markbikerman wrote; ‘You can’t park there mate!’

@maurice_1960 asked the very interesting question: ‘How the hell did he get it through the turnstile?’

And @elthampub commented: ‘How the hell was he even allowed to board?’

Transport for London are yet to comment on the odd sighting.

Shockingly, that’s not the first time a commuter has decided to bring his motorbike on a train though.

In another Tweet which went viral, footage was captured of a man shouting at passengers trying to brush past his bike, which he had somehow managed to get through turnstiles and onto the subway in New York.

In the video, the man can be heard insisting: ‘I’m not moving, I’m standing right here. Tell them to walk around.’

Public transport can be a strange place at times – particularly on the London Underground, where the bizarre is far from uncommon.

Passengers have spotted all sorts of oddities on the tube, from foxes to a pair of identical twins wearing identical clothes.

One commuter even spoke of a woman, who she would see every morning, doing yoga in the middle of the carriage.

The commuter posted on Reddit: ‘A woman used to get on at Walthamstow Central, pop her massive bag on a seat at 8am rush hour then proceed to do yoga in the aisle.

‘Couldn’t really move because it was so rammed but people sure tried – accompanied by a lot of side eye.

‘Was quite annoying, but also funny as hell.’

So next time you ride the underground, be on the lookout for the extraordinary.
