Iran calls for regional unity to end Israel aggression in Syria

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Sayed Abbas Araghchi, stated that the unity and mobilization of all regional countries are essential to halt Israel’s aggression against Syria.

On Thursday, December 12, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted Araghchi, who added that Israel has almost destroyed all military and civilian infrastructure in Syria.

According to the Iranian official, Israel has violated agreements and UN Security Council resolutions, seizing more areas of Syrian territory.

He also pointed out that the UN Security Council bears the responsibility for halting Israel’s aggression, but so far, it has only played the role of a “spectator.”

Araghchi emphasized that regional countries, especially Islamic nations, must unite to stop Israel’s advances.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had previously reported that, during the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime to rebel forces, Israel had carried out around 310 air and ground attacks on both military and civilian targets in Syria.

Israel has confirmed that these attacks were conducted to destroy ammunition depots and capabilities that posed a threat to Tel Aviv.

The ongoing tensions between Israel and Syria continue to escalate, with increasing international concern over Israel’s actions in the region. The call for unity among regional countries, as emphasized by Araghchi, reflects the urgency of addressing the conflict diplomatically.

As the situation remains volatile, the international community, particularly the UN, faces mounting pressure to take a more active role in de-escalating the crisis and ensuring regional stability.
