SOME believe that today, Friday 13, is a time for just mishaps and misfortune.
But you can bag big savings if you ignore the superstition.

GET MARRIED: Couples setting a date to tie the knot will often avoid Friday 13, according to wedding planning website hitched.co.uk.
So, if you’re planning your big day, you can haggle for discounts from suppliers as well as on venues, which are likely to be quieter than on other Fridays.
Altogether, this can mean saving thousands of pounds on the cost of a wedding — leaving you feeling pretty lucky after all.
SAVE ON FLIGHTS: Fears over Friday 13 mean many people will avoid air travel, and the reduced demand for flights means savings can be made.
On the last Friday 13, in September, average discounts of 21 per cent were available on tickets, which worked out as a typical saving of £99 on a round trip, compared with any other Friday, according to research by Kayak.
CHEAPER HOME: Nearly three in every four streets skip the house number 13, going straight from 12 to 14, research from property website Zoopla has revealed.
This is because some superstitious people refuse to live in number 13 and the address will put off many buyers.
But this attitude means that in streets where there is a number 13, it could be significantly cheaper than similar properties in the same area.
In the past, Zoopla found that a number 13 property typically costs two per cent less than an equivalent home.
This may not sound much, but with the average property price sitting at £298,083, according to Halifax, it translates to a saving of £5,961.
Zoopla also found that levels of superstition vary across the country, so in some areas you could get much bigger bargains than in others.
