‘Sachin Tendulkar didn’t help…’: Vinod Kambli breaks silence on health concerns
Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli’s career was filled with ups and downs and he wasn’t really able to achieve the heights that he was once destined to. Kambli wasn’t able to make a comeback into the Indian team as his performances went from bad to worse.
Meanwhile, Kambli’s teammate Sachin Tendulkar, who started his career alongside him went on to become one of if not the greatest cricketer ever.
Recently, the 2 former cricketers met at their childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar’s memorial and a stark contrast between thir health status left cricket fans shocked and worried for Kambli.
However, Kambli has vowed to fight back and put an end to his severe health issues. In a recent interview, Kambli opened up on his friendship with Tendulkar following the 2009 incident, after which their relationship went through a rough phase.
At that time, Kambli had also accused Sachin of turning his back on him. However, he has now revealed that his former teammate had taken care of many of his medical bills when he underwent surgeries in 2013.
“At that time, it came to my mind that Sachin didn’t help. I was extremely frustrated. But Sachin did everything for me, including paying for my two surgeries in 2013. We spoke, and childhood friendship came forward,” Kambli revealed on The Viky Lalwani Show.
“Sachin told me how to play. I made nine comebacks. We are cricketers; we get hurt. When we get out, we also get hurt,” Kambli added.
During the interview, Kambli also revealed that he is ready to go for rehab and added that he wanted to go there because he doesn’t fear anything.
“I’m ready to go for rehab. I want to go there because I don’t fear anything. My family is with me,” Kambli said.
