Why 'S.W.A.T.' Won't Return With New Episodes Until 2025

S.W.A.T. is only eight episodes into its eighth season. However, the hit CBS series will be on a brief hiatus after the December 13 episode.

The show returns with a new episode called “Left of Boom” on Friday. It airs on CBS at the show’s regular time slot – 8pm ET.

Here’s a synopsis of the new episode: “Hondo and the SWAT team race to stop a nuclear attack on Los Angeles when radioactive material is stolen from a local lab. Also, Powell delves into Alfaro’s past when he displays a talent for boxing as the department prepares for the annual LAFD ‘smoker’ boxing tournament.”

After it airs, S.W.A.T. will be taking a few weeks off for a winter break. Find out when it will return!

S.W.A.T. will return with its ninth episode on January 31, 2025. It will air at a new time slot – 10pm ET. That means that there will be seven weeks between episodes.
