12/13/2024: Mostly sunny, but very frosty!
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Outside of a few lingering lake-effect snow showers in the western Adirondacks, we are in for a very bright, but very chilly Friday.
Albany will only briefly hit the 30 degree mark, with most in the hills and mountains struggling to get out of the 20's. While not intensely windy, a little breeze at times will make it feel that much cooler.
Tonight is mostly clear, but awfully chilly. Expect lows in the mid teens for the Capital District, with single digits up north and in the high terrain.
Saturday and Sunday continue this trend - morning lows in the teens and single digits, then highs only in the low to mid 30's even with a ton of sun.
An approaching weather system will bring snow Monday morning, but most of the region will see a quick change to rain as temperatures rise to near 40 in the afternoon. Showers could continue into Tuesday morning. That looks like a very mild day, with highs near 50.
