After news of Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy’s arrest broke Thursday, two of his famous exes have expressed their total lack of surprise. As TMZ first reported, Kennedy was arrested Tuesday night for misdemeanor domestic violence. Witnesses say they saw Kennedy grabbing a woman, though officers say that individual did not sustain “visible injuries.” While law enforcement has not yet identified the woman involved, Kennedy was spotted with his girlfriend Ally Lewber at Kathy Hilton’s annual holiday party earlier in the evening, where sources told Us Weekly the DJ’s behavior was “erratic.” Though Lewber has previously swatted away concerns that Kennedy was abusive, his former castmates, Kristen Doute and Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, have not been so forgiving.

On Thursday, Doute shared TMZ’s article about the arrest to her Instagram Story, writing, “FINALLY.” She and Kennedy dated between 2013 and 2015, with much of their tumultuous relationship showcased on early seasons of the Bravo series (he once spit on her door in the midst of an argument). The Valley star is currently pregnant and engaged to Luke Broderick.

Kennedy’s most recent ex — and former fiancée — Leviss commented on the arrest via her lawyers, alleging that NBC and the show’s production company Evolution have been aware of Kennedy’s “troubling behavior all along.” In February amid the fallout from Scandoval, Leviss filed a revenge-porn lawsuit against her co-stars Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval, in which she accused Kennedy of being “violent and dangerous.” “This news is, unfortunately, not surprising,” attorneys Mark Geragos and Bryan Freedman told TMZ. “Rachel’s lawsuit describes, in significant detail, Mr. Kennedy’s long history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse.” Notably, Leviss’s lawsuit also alleges that Vanderpump has unaired footage of Kennedy “physically assault[ing]” Doute on-camera.

Per Us Weekly, Kennedy’s attorneys released a statement Friday addressing the arrest. “We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James,” they said. “We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”

TMZ reports that Kennedy was released after posting $20,000 in bail. He and Lewber have both since been spotted at their shared home in Burbank — Lewber taking a phone call, and Kennedy grabbing some Uber Eats in his “See You Next Tuesday” sweatshirt, per the Daily Mail.

The Cut has reached out to Bravo and a representative for Kennedy and will update this post when we hear back.
