Del City murder suspect arrested in Muskogee County
DEL CITY, Okla. (KFOR) — A 53-year-old man suspected of shooting and killing a Del City man in November was arrested in Muskogee County on Friday.
On November 9, 43-year-old Tony Donnell Ganther was found dead with a single gunshot wound at Rag City Customs near Delwood Drive and Westside Drive in Del City.
Del City Police say Derrick Leron Jordan was arrested in Muskogee County on Friday after a month-long investigation into Ganther's death.
The investigation involved several other law enforcement agencies and reportedly extended into Kansas as authorities interviewed witnesses, reviewed hours of surveillance footage, and executed several search warrants across different jurisdictions.
Jordan will be booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on charges of first degree murder, robbery an possession of a firearm after a felony conviction with a $10 million bond.
Neighbors News 4 spoke with say they are concerned for their safety as the shooting practically happened in their backyard.
"I have to have security cameras," Jane Dannenberg-Pena said. "I put my own security light out there."
She is asking for a larger police presence moving forward.
"It's going to happen again if it's not patrolled and they don't clean it up," said Dannenberg-Pena.
Investigators reportedly discovered that Jordan maintains numerous contacts in the Tulsa and eastern Oklahoma areas, and ask anyone with additional information that may help with the ongoing investigation to call the Del City Police Department Investigations Division at 405-677-2443.
