EVKS Elangovan, former Tamil Nadu Congress president, passes away at 75

Former Tamil Nadu Congress President and MLA EVKS Elangovan passed away at 75 in Chennai. He served as a Union Minister and represented both Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies. Elangovan, grandson of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy's brother, returned to the Tamil Nadu Assembly in 2023 after winning the Erode East by-election following his son's death.
