Mohammed Siraj faces BACKLASH at the Gabba, fans react to Adelaide clash

New Delhi: On the opening day of the third Test against Australia at The Gabba in Brisbane, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was greeted with jeers from some members of the audience as he geared up to bowl the second over of Australia’s turn to bat. This unsettling reaction was triggered by an earlier clash involving Siraj and Travis Head during the second Test match in Adelaide. This episode led to penalties for both athletes – Siraj was fined 20 percent while Head was slapped with a demerit point.

In the third Test match against Australia, Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided that his team would take to bowling first.

India has subtly tweaked their team composition, bringing in Akash Deep instead of Harshit Rana and swapping R Ashwin for Ravindra Jadeja.

Josh Hazlewood, having recuperated from a side injury, has returned to step into his role in the Australian team, filling the spot previously occupied by Scott Boland.

“Little bit overcast and little bit of grass, looks a bit soft as well, want to make best use of the conditions. It will get better to bat as it goes on,” Rohit said at the toss.

“Big game for us here, we’ll do what is expected of us. We’ll play good cricket, we understand we have to capture some moments, we didn’t do that in the previous game which is why we lost,” he added.

At the moment, both sides have claimed a victory in the five-game series, sitting at a draw with one win apiece.
