Dennis McCann won’t fight on the Usyk vs Fury 2 card after adverse findings on his VADA test.

Dennis McCann “returned an adverse finding” on his Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) drug test ahead of his scheduled return next weekend, and his planned fight on the Usyk vs Fury 2 undercard in Riyadh is now canceled.

McCann was set to face Peter McGrail in a super bantamweight fight.

The 23-year-old McCann (16-0-1, 8 KO) has been an in-house favorite in his young pro career, a rising prospect in the Queensberry Promotions stable. The southpaw had already won the European, British, and Commonwealth super bantamweight titles in his last two fights, wins over Brad Strand and Ionut Baluta.

The 28-year-old McGrail (10-1, 6 KO) could still fight on the card, if organizers can find a short-notice replacement, but you’re talking about eight days’ notice here so you wouldn’t be getting a marquee bout or anything. He’s won two in a row over Marc Leach and Brad Foster following a stunning upset loss to Ja’Rico O’Quinn a year ago.
